Women in Leadership

There are women leaders out there playing the big game.

Are you brave enough to make your leadership claim?

We can all hope and pray, but at the end of the day

You have to lead others out of disarray

A good leader knows when to break the rules

And most leaders are subjected to being ridiculed

But guess what? Leading is hard and not for everyone –

sometimes you’ll feel like the black swan

But if you want to see a change: we must pass the baton.

I lead because I want to believe in change

On many occasions, it leaves me feeling estranged

I have more than 99 failures on my journey

but just like Einstein I’ll find a success deemed worthy

I challenge all my listeners: lead at least once a day

Say what you do and do what you say

I don’t care if you are an elephant or a donkey

Please just make a positive change like Gandhi

Find your own inspiration from history

Is it Joan of Arc who lead a French revolt to victory?

Is it Jane Austen, who started writing in a era of non-female writers?

Or Harriet Beecher Stowe who wrote Uncle Tom’s Cabin — a true fighter

Susan B. Anthony gave Women a voice to vote

Coco Chanel defined the feminine style beyond the trench coat

Mother Teresa is a global icon, a true servant of the people

Now Rosa Parks fought for all people to be equal

I could go on and on with this list

But let’s do more than just coexist

Let’s start 2018 with more than just our titles

A woman, an engineer, an assistant, a coach, gymnast, an anchor or pilot

A mom, An inventor, a general, philanthropist, sister, comedian, executive

Oceanographer, astronaut, lawyer, niece, journalist, singer and a diplomat

Lets be strong women and stand tall

Lets be women who lead all
